Located in East Victoria Park, Perth. The Edward Millen home is a heritage listed building once used as a maternity ward. The building was proposed to us for refurbishment as a health/wellness centre for the local community. Looking at the East Victoria Park's demographic, I decided to accomodate for the high population of seniors, and converted it into a Seniors Club. The concept behind the club was to encourage seniors to start interacting with one another, and to enhance their lives socially. It would provide a meeting ground where they could meet other seniors for social events, guidance and opportunities to alleviate issues faced by many seniors such as isolation, loneliness, and even finding love. The concept behind the design was rejuvenation, just as the seniors rejuvenating ones forgotten self, the interior is rejuvenating old styles, but with a modern twist.
